The commands, by name
LINE, CIRCLE, POLYGON, TEXT, MTEXT, leaders and dimensions; MOVE, COPY, ROTATE, SCALE, MIRROR, OFFSET, TRIM, EXTEND, FILLET, BREAK, JOIN, STRETCH and DIVIDE, each opens a panel that asks for exactly the distance, angle or interval it needs.
A command line, not a prop
Type L, C, PO or TX and the tool switches. Type E, U, Z or SAVE and it happens. Enter repeats the last command, and every command answers in words.
Snaps and drafting aids
Object snap to endpoints and edges, grid snap, visible grid and ortho constraint, separate toggles on the status bar, because they do genuinely different jobs.
Layers, blocks and linetypes
Layer colour, visibility and lock in the explorer; a survey symbol library placed as blocks with scale and rotation; dashed, gas, water and fence linetypes rendered on canvas and on the plot.
Annotation and plotting
Mtext, multileaders and dimensions styled in millimetres at plot scale, then printed to A1 sheet PDFs from templates with a live typography preview, what you see is what the sheet carries.
Interchange that round-trips
DXF in and out, curves come in as true arcs, never flattened to chords, and LandXML points and linework in. Backsight tells you what a format can carry, so nothing is lost quietly on the way through.
